Beyond COVID: LSU scientists hope wastewater testing leads to better public health

Wastewater surveillance of COVID-19 is just the tip of the iceberg. We are working to extend the surveillance footprint to include other infectious diseases.

We are actively working to include other infectious diseases, such as influenza and seasonal colds, in our wastewater surveillance program in Baton Rouge.
